INCLEMENT WEATHER (a) If due to inclement weather the home court is unplayable, the match shall be declared a washout and the visiting team notified as soon as possible, but not before 6.30pm on the day in question. If play has not commenced by 8.15p.m. the match shall be deemed a washout. (b) If there is no play, or unable to complete the match due to Extreme Weather (as listed in link below), only the home team needs to send a mailform to the appropriate Record Secretary citing ‘Washout’ or ‘Extreme weather’ as the reason for no or partial play. The mailform is to be sent in accordance with the time limitations prescribed in Bylaw 8(i). Match points will be allocated in accordance with Bylaw 15(c). Read Tennis Australia's National "Extreme Weather Policy" KDNTA SUMMARY FOR EXTREME WEATHER: Heat limit = BoM website: When the Ambient Temperature exceeds 36.0 oC after 6:30pm. High Wind = Airbourne Contaminant: Sand, Dust, Smoke, etc. Fire = CFA declared “High” or above. Team Captains should discuss at 6:30pm. (c) Home teams that do not lodge a mailform for a washout will be deemed to have forfeited the match and will be fined in accordance with Bylaw 19(b). (d) Home and away matches may be transferred to another KDNTA approved venue if both captains agree. (e) Failure to notify your opposition in person of a washout may result in a fine & loss of points in accordance to by-law 19(k). If you are unable to speak to your opposition by phone, you are required to attend the courts to notify them in person.
