SUBSTITUTION OF PLAYERS(a) If because of illness, accident, or other emergency a player cannot continue in a match, a substitute may take their place. The current set shall be forfeited with the winning team given 6 games and the forfeiting team keeping games already scored. The substitute player may play the remaining sets of the match.(b) A substitute must be an eligible player of the club concerned. If a substitute player is not available immediately after such illness, accident, or emergency the match shall be continued, leaving out the sets for which the substitute is required.(c) If a substitute is not available within fifteen (15) minutes of the completion of the sets possible to be played, the club will be considered not to have scored any further games in any sets for which the substitute was required.(d) Once a substitute player has started play, they must, if necessary, be prepared to complete all their sets without a rest break.(e) The names of all substitute players used must appear on the match mailform in the place of the defaulting player. A suitable written explanation for the substitution must be entered on the mailform.(f) If a finals match is carried over to another day a substitute player approved by the Executive shall be permitted to take the place of any player who is prevented from continuing that match through illness, injury or any other good and sufficient reason. The opposing team shall be notified by the Association Secretary of any such substitution approval.
